Honoring Excellence, Supporting Education

In remembrance of the late John Jackson, a dedicated Ocean Grove lifeguard, the Ocean Grove Beach Foundation is proud to present an annual scholarship. This scholarship not only pays tribute to John’s legacy but also serves as a beacon for lifeguards aspiring to academic excellence and leadership.

The Ocean Grove Beach Foundation awards an annual scholarship to a lifeguard employed by the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. The award is based on exemplary performance as a lifeguard, leadership, financial need, and an expressed interest in pursuing a secondary education. This year’s application deadline will be in August, 2024 (day to be determined).

Lifeguards and beach operations personnel are eligible for the award and must be high school graduates or enrolled in schools of secondary education, including colleges, universities, or technical schools. To be eligible, an individual lifeguard or beach operations employee must submit an application to the Ocean Grove Beach Foundation.

All applications will be thoroughly reviewed by a committee comprised of the Executive Board of the Ocean Grove Beach Foundation and the Head Lifeguard of the Ocean Grove Camp Meeting Association. Through this selection process, scholarships will be awarded annually, with payment dispersed in August.
